The United States Telecom Association's Petition for Reconsideration of the FCC's CALEA First Report and Order (filed on November 14, 2005) asked the FCC to (1) reconsider its decision to start the 18-month CALEA compliance clock on November 14, 2005, and instead start that clock on the effective date of its forthcoming order on CALEA capability requirements for broadband access and VoIP services, and (2) clarify and delineate the specific broadband access services that qualify as “newly covered services” under the CALEA First Report and Order.p>
